Modern Art is a term used to describe a range of artistic styles and movements that emerged in the second half of the 19th century and persisted until around the 1970s. These styles are often characterized by their attempt to break away from traditional aesthetics and conventions, in favor of experimentation and expressiveness. While it can be difficult to identify a unifying theme among all modern art movements, there are certain key factors that connect them, such as the rise of abstraction, the advent of the avant-garde, and the use of new industrial materials. In general, one could say that modern art is marked by a gradual metamorphosis towards greater expressiveness and creativity.
